Recharge Shawl KAL

I came across Kate Heppell's Recharge Shawl Mystery-ish KAL yesterday, and it really seemed like the just the thing for right now. There's so much going on in the world right now, and it really seems like the best thing we have right now is a bunch of people taking solace from knitting.

Once I signed up, I went diving through my fingering-weight stash, and I found these two skeins. These were the first two skeins of indie dyed yarn I ever bought, from a long-defunct dyer on Etsy not long after I finished college. They're a bamboo sock blend, and I never really found the right pattern for them.

And so: exhale. I have some beautiful yarn. I have a global community of crafters all reaching out to offer comfort and support to one another-no pressure, no expectations. We're all just trying to find our way through tough times and make the world a little more beautiful along the way, and for now, that will have to be enough.

  1. Yes, more beautiful moments in life are needed and are needed to be shared with what's going on in the world. I'm joining in Year of Projects this year after a two year break and you inspired me to put From Another Place Crop Top on my list. I wanted to do that lacy beach one but I really doubt I'd get it done before summer ends although hot weather has run until the end of October; hmmm...something to ponder on.
