A Pile of Hats


Gosh, it really was just a week and a half ago that I showed you all a pile of yarn and told you I had the wild idea to do a mini collection. Knitting the samples is one of my favorite parts of designing-a swatch gives you a lot of information, but it's something else completely to see your swatch and notes turn into an actual thing. Crazy fun.

The little pile of hats is growing-I have crown decreases on the third hat, and the entire final hat to knit, then it's back to writing and editing and charting and blocking and all the other fun stuff that has to happen. So far everything has been going really smoothly-I've tweaked some stuff, but mostly because I'm fickle. Turns out that planning ahead in detail really does make everything else easier-who knew!

    I'm glad someone thinks that kind of detailed fiddling is FUN!!! (Makes it fun for the rest of us, for sure!!!)

    This looks so exciting! I can't wait to see the collection all together - and I know exactly what you mean about thunderstorms, last week lightening struck a tree in our back yarn and since then I feel like when I tell the dog "it's grand nothing to worry about" during a thunderstorm that he can tell I'm lying!!

      Thanks! My poor dog won't listen to anything if there's a thunderstorm-there's some music that he likes that can sometimes keep him calm through one if we start it early enough, but usually he's just a poor wreck of nerves :(

      I love hats! Sometimes I'll go almost a year without knitting a hat, and then I'll go ahead and knit one, remember how fabulous they are, and knit seven more!
