Numbers on a Friday

1. I'm not sure switching the laundry soap is helping as much as I hoped it would.

2. Even though my skin isn't totally cleared up, I'm loving the chance to go through all my clothes. I've got a pretty serious pile going for donation, and I'm letting myself throw out a bunch of ratty tank tops.

3. I have a lot of clothes. Really, they'd gotten out of hand. I love them, and I love putting together outfits, but my wardrobe needed a serious purge. In fact, going through and clearing out feels so nice (once I get over the overwhelming exhaustion) that I want to spread out and go through all my stuff. I haven't read Marie Kondo's book, but I know a lot of people who have, and I'd like to try to be more mindful about my things and hopefully will be able to get a lot of stuff sorted this summer.

4. I've been working more on my Flower Market this week! I'm on the final body repeat before I get to start the border charts, and this is still so enjoyable to knit. Of course, this means that I haven't been working as steadily on my Orange Tee as I'd like, but that's okay, because:

5. I'm going west for work this weekend (in fact, I'm leaving about an hour after this posts), and I'm bringing the Orange Tee (and only the orange tee!) along to work on in the hotel room, so I'll have to get a serious chunk of it done.

6. I got a new computer! I love my old one, but it's been crash dumping like crazy lately. Hopefully the new one and I will get along all right-it's got a nice clicky keyboard, but the touchpad is different from what I'm used to. I have a ton of stuff to transfer over though-all of my design work, thousands of photographs, dozens of ebooks, several months' worth of music-it's going to be quite the undertaking.

7. Maybe this is shallow of me, but my new computer is black instead of red, and it makes me a little sad. I've been browsing Etsy for fun decals to spice it up a bit (or a lot).

8. Maybe it wouldn't be the end of the world if I brought something besides the Orange Tee for hotel knitting.

9. Nope, I'm definitely ready to have that thing off the needles and on my body. No distractions this weekend, just me, a hotel room, and a pile of orange. 

Numbers Because It's That Kind of Week

1. FINALLY started Xmas knitting (well, one of them-the second one I'm having second thoughts on, but I think I'm still going to go for it). It's later than I usually start, because for some reason I can't get in the right mood for it this year. But like I said, I started Top Sekrit Xmas Project #1 and so far it's going really well. Except I'm already nervous about running out of yarn. So I really need to get this one done soon in case I need to order more.

2. In case you've dropped the holiday knitting ball too, I have a quick accessory pattern coming out this week. I love it, I think it's super cute, and it knits up in a couple hours. Boom. So keep an eye out for that.

3. It's finally starting to get cold here, which means I've been fighting with my office HVAC system again. My office won't get above 60 degrees Fahrenheit, which isn't super terrible, but it does get a little chilly. To cope, I have two pairs of fingerless gloves in progress right now (actually just finished the first glove of one pair last night but haven't taken any pictures yet).

4. Friday I'm taking the day off work to go see Anemone for Halloween and I realized that I have two different reward punch cards for the yarn store there that each have only $60 left before I get free yarn, so we'll see how that develops.

5. Related to Xmas knitting: intarsia is weird and I'm definitely doing it wrong but I am a wayward knitter and rules are dumb. At least it looks cool so far.

6. I maybe accidentally cast on for a pi shawl this week even though I have Xmas knitting to do and a buttload of design projects to start finish.

7. I'm really sorry there's no pictures today but I promise there will be tons of pics next time.

Numbers on a Monday

1. I think I'm hitting a wall with the Marion KAL. I really want to be done with the body, but I can't make myself knit it. I keep getting distracted by other stuff.

2. Renovation is still going. Stuff got moved to the storage unit Saturday, so I really just need to clean up after myself and get some furniture moved (and buy a rug, I keep forgetting about that).

3. I barely knit anything this weekend-all day Saturday was spent alternating between getting mice out of the garage, being sick, and moving stuff to the storage unit. Then Sunday was spent baking and being sick. Hopefully I'm feeling better now and can get some real knitting done today.

4. Havina is off the needles and just waiting for a blocking. She's going to be pretty big, though, and I don't think she'll fit on on the bed, so I might have to get creative.

5. There's a baby coming in six weeks that doesn't have a blanket yet.  Whoops.

6. But I have a vacation in two weeks. Nine glorious days without having to go to my day job. Just me, the dogs, a couple books, an impressive Netflix queue, and a whole lot of yarn.
