Down to the Wire

We're officially one week from opening for Mary Poppins, and I'm super excited. This is going to be such a great show, and while I'm literally collapsing into bed at the end of each day, I'm so glad to have this experience.

Surprisingly, I'm not as far behind on knitting as I thought I might be-but I think the sheer number of projects I've been juggling the past few weeks disguises most of my progress. Not only do I have a ton of stuff actually on the needles, but I also have several skeins of yarn that are just waiting for me to find an hour to wind them up! This pile has all my knitting projects, in progress or still in yarn form, that I want to have done before fall (gulp).

In the pile of WIPs up there, I have a hat for my brother, my mum's Rocky Coast, a cowl/scarf sample, and Mottled Daydream. Not too bad, although I am leaving out some stuff that I've decided to ignore for the next few weeks (including a top for me, a sweater that got stuck 4 rows in, the neverending blankets, some socks, and several bits and pieces I've conveniently forgotten about).

  1. That beanie pattern is pretty cool. I used to knit beanies for the school's teacher appreciation raffle. Maybe I'll send two as a surprise next year since we moved. Still love that colorway you're working with in Zen. I have some Zen cashmere sock yarn from a STITCHES West jaunt.

    1. Thanks! My brother picked out the hat pattern-he's so eager for it to be done! I love this ZEN, I picked it up at my LYS a couple of years ago, and it took forever for me to figure out what to knit with it :)

  2. Oh, the ever-growing wip pile! Don't stress about them, they'll get done someday - whether through slow and steady knitting, or a self-imposed deadline and some frantic and dedicated knitting sessions (and end sewing - SO MANY ENDS)!

I hope you tell us all about Mary Poppins! I wish I could come over and watch, but you're a little bit too far away. :( BREAK A LEG!!!! :D

  5. Lol... I'm trying to finish a bunch of WIPs too! Most of them are charity knits, which I will be donating at the end of September - not too long to get them finished then!!

  6. Funny, I was just looking at my pile of WIPs as well. Like you I feel behind and because of the huge number of projects you can't even tell that progress is happening.
Your pile does look lovely and happy!

    1. Thank you! It's tough, because I know progress *must* be happening, but it's hiding in there.
